A Baby Girl Due in May

Oh how I wish I looked this good when I was pregnant!
This is my sweet sister in law who lives about an hour from me.  I went down to Hacienda Heights which is where these beautiful pink blossom trees were at.  She is having a girl after having two little Jedi's for 7 years.  She is excited to say the least!  So we went all PINK for this!

Rose is having her third!  She has two adorable little girls, and in that belly is her little boy.  I did her last maternity session here.  So happy for her and her sweet family.

A baby announcement

This was something fun and new!!  I got to photograph a baby announcement!  They were looking for a fun way to tell their families.  What a great idea!  We went to a great little beach in Malibu--it had some really fun, colorful surfboards--so much fun!

Old Friends, are the Best Friends

I just got back from Utah visiting my family, and a very rare meeting happened.  My two best friends from high school/college were all in our home town, and we were able to get together for an evening out.  I have not seen these girls in at least 7 or 8 years!  We had the best time just catching up--lots of laughs of  the funny, weird, things we did.
This picture is one of my favorites.  We all must be about 20 years old--and can I just say, I hope overalls come back in style.  ;)  Could there be a more comfortable outfit--i think not!!  lol
Kara hates this pic--but it was the last time we were really "together".  I knew I was going to be getting married, Jen was moving to New York to be a nanny, and Kara was going to  BYU Jerusalem for school.  We were leaving our youth, and heading out into the future.  :)
I LOVE this picture--it was taken at the airport saying good-bye to Jen, and we all got kind of teary, because we all knew.

So fast forward 14 years, and here is Jen!  She is about 6 months pregnant in these pictures, so she doesn't have a huge belly like you tend to see in maternity shoots, but, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take some shots of my BFF from my childhood.  And wow, she has only gotten more beautiful with age.

I'm kicking myself now that we didn't get a better picture of us together on our night out, since who knows when it may happen again.  But here we are after we'd laughed ourselves silly all night.
I was so lucky to have them for friends.  Love them.

So, So beautiful!

Seriously!  Seriously!  Could she BE any more beautiful!  This has to be one of my favorite photo shoots to date.  There is a little baby girl in that belly, and her mama is going to be great.  Congratulations K.

38 Weeks!!

Its fun what you learn about people when you take their photographs.  I really enjoy chatting away, and hoping to get some natural emotions out of people.  Come to find out, this friend of mine is a natural in front of the camera.  Turns out she has had some "pageant" time.  Oh yeah!!!  Such a shocker to me!  This is the mom that is totally into bugs and lizards and, and going to Costa Rica.  Never would I have pegged her for a pageant girl.  :)  Love it!  So many fun layers to people.
I talked her into doing some photos because this is her last baby.  I think women are very hesitant to be photographed super pregnant, because you feel horrible! But, the more I've thought about it, these pictures are not for you....they are not meant to go on your walls....they are meant for your children.  Especially your daughters.   Because one day they will be young mommies, and what a treasure it will be to them to have a picture of their mom in the same stage of life.

I've lived in California for almost six years.  Time is flying by!  Every now and then in our ward, someone from my home state of Utah moves out here, and I love it!!!  There is just something about someone who knows the same places you know, same schools, culture, ect....you feel an instant connection with them.  Enter Heidi here.  She moved in a few years back and we've been good friends since then.  She is hilarious, and always so fun to be around.  She is expecting her third baby.  You met her gorgeous little red head here.  There is another little girl in that belly, and we're all anxiously awaiting to meet her and have a look at her hair color!
